Graduate Recruitment Companies

Recruitment companies can be really helpful in finding the right job for you. Think of them as matchmakers- Recruitment companies make their money when they successfully match make an applicant (you) with a client.

THEY'RE GREAT BECAUSE:

  • They can also help steer you in the right direction if you're a little uncertain as to which career path you want to follow.
  • Instead of just selling yourself, they can help sell you to their clients.
  • They can also help you to negotiate a salary/package that is agreeable to you
  • They usually have good relationships with their clients so understand what their clients are looking for. (This means they should be able to give you some inside tips as to what employers will be wanting to see....)
  • They can save you time. Send them your CV and covering letter and they'll farm you out to as many companies as they think relevant.

TOP TIP: Befriend them; make sure they immediately think of you when new positions arise.

However never be bullied into taking a position if you don't think it's right- recruitment consultants can be quite bullish (you're commission at the end of the day) so stand up for yourself!

IF YOU FIND A GOOD RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT, RECOMMEND THEM TO YOUR FRIENDS Many companies offer cash incentives if you do this- if they are successful in finding your friend a position you could be quids in- sometimes up to £250!!
